The Interventional Bronchoscopy course is presented by the
Assistance Publique Hôpitaux de Marseille,
Thoracic Endoscopy Unit, Marseille, France.
Under the auspices of the French-Speaking Group of Endoscopy (GELF)
and the European Association for Bronchology and Interventional
Pulmonology (EAB).

Course description
The goal of this three-day course is to educate experienced thoracic
endoscopists in the principles and practice of interventional
bronchoscopy.
The course will include didactic sessions focusing on the most
important diagnostic and therapeutic techniques as well as the
management of the vast majority of tracheobronchial diseases.
Oral presentations will be illustrated by 4 live cases.
Workshops are designed to provide hands-on training for participants
and for the first time this will include animal models.
An international Faculty with extensive knowledge and experience in
the everyday practice of interventional endoscopy has been assembled
to share insight and skill with the participations.

Several leading manufacturers of rigid and flexible bronchoscopes,
laser, cryotherapy, thermocoagulation, stents, and diagnostic
devices such as autofluorescence, endobronchial ultrasound,and
navigation systems will be making their products available for
evaluation and use during the workshops.
After completion of the course, participants should have:
- A working knowledge of the fundamentals of airway endoscopy.
- A basic understanding of indications and contraindications of
flexible and rigid bronchoscopy.
- Hands-on experience in intubation with the rigid bronchoscope and
its therapeutic and diagnostic indications.
- A theoretical approach to novel diagnostic techniques.
- A course DVD will be provided which will include all the oral
presentations.

Tuition fee:
Enrolment is limited to 40 participants.
Registration is 1000 euros for the full course (850 euros for GELF
and EAB members).
The fee includes a welcome reception, luncheons, course DVD,
transportation to and from the hospital, and the “meet-the-faculty”
gala dinner.
